Is this anything serious??...?

I've had acute TMJ basically my entire life. It's never been a problem until recently. It started popping A LOT then started to hurt. it's 4 days later and today i can't open my mouth very wide without very sharp pain. it is no longer popping but the pain is almost unbarable. the right side of my jaw is the only side that hurts. the left side is fine. should the pain go away soon? is this serious? thanks!
