Can valproic acid be taken with one of the statin drugs?

I have seen many times where physicians have ordered statin drugs like Lipitor and Zocor for patients who were also taking Depakote (VPA). I haven't read where VPA is contraindicated with statin drugs or if there are any known drug interactions between the two. You can always ask your physician if they are safe to take together.
