Matthew 21, just don't understand?

I am open to religion. I was sitting in a hotel and had a few to drink and was looking at the Bible which was by the Gideons. (not sure what that means.) I was scanning through pages which some seemed interesting, I fell upon Mathew 21, it talks about Jesus asking his disciples (followers or whatever you would like to refer to them as.) to untie a donkey and (an another animal which I want to say a colt??) to bring to him. The chapter seemed to make him seem like he is just a cult type leader finding weak minded people to do as he says. This seems to be he wants other people to sin for him to be thieves. I just don't understand the whole concept as it seems he is no different than anybody else as far as sinning goes, it seems as if he may have seemed holier than everyone else as he had many followers for his deceptive ideology. It seems to me as the bible is just something for people to believe in to get through life. I am not trying to be biased in any way, being open minded this is how I interpret this. Sorry if my grammar is not politically correct as I may have had a few drinks, although sober or not the interpretation would still be the same. Thievery is thievery no matter if it is for a penny or a hundred dollars, somebody had to work hard for what they have achieved regardless if it may be as little as a candy bar. to bring this to today's terms he is no different than lets say 'Charles Manson.'
