My front door is stuck and won't unlock. I can remove the handle on the inside, but not the exterior. HELP!

The exterior handle will not budge. I have removed the screws, and it hangs out the other side, but it is caught on the mechanism itself. The long cylander that connects from the fron handle to the back is flared, so that is bigger on this end and therefore won't easily slide through the hole. Any tips on how to remove?
