What should be my next step?

I need some advice. I' a '06 college graduate and have a degree in communications/m media. I have about 2 years experience working as a television production istant on several different doentaries and now I'm trying to figure out where to go next. I've been out of work for the past several months because of budget cuts and the instability of working on doentaries. I don't have the grades or the attention span to go onto grad school but I want and am determined to live my dream of moving to NYC, buy a loft, and have a great career with a hefty pay check. I love working with media and being creative but I can't figure out what to do next to achieve my dream. Any serious suggestions would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance.
