What were you thinking? Yes, landlord is probably panicked and this is why he's grasping at straws. As long as handing over keys to maintenance guy Bill is the usual course of terminating tenancies in your jurisdiction, landlord would have a tough sell on his suit. But give this to mouthpiece running the lead poisoning file. Do NOT discuss the litigation with anyone, anyone, ANYONE other than spouse and atty and advise kids to do the same. Hope you've kept the reports from health inspector and photos, medical reports, etc. Victory will be yours in spite of your efforts to shoot yourself in the foot.
