What do you think he wld say if i asked him...?

this guy who know sthat i like him, and i, have been hanging out, and i told him that ever since i was younger i had been wanting to be kissed in the snow, yet i never had. it happened to be snowing that day and he kissed me! it was an amazing kiss, not just a peck. it felt like it meant something, so i asked him if he liked me and he said that he didnt not like me and he liked me a little bit. and then we talked on the phone and stuff for a couple days, and then we were hanging out at his house today, it got awkward at one point and i asked him if he wanted me to leave and he was like why would you think that? so to see what he would say, i told him that another guy had wanted to ask me out and at first he was like who is he jw, and then he said he didnt care, so i asked him if he really cared? because if he cared then i would say no.. and he said its up to you, whatever you want to do. and then it got dark i had to walk home so he walked me and on the way back, i asked him if i should just give up on him and he said no, but then he said he was just trying to keep his options open......? i want to ask him to be my date for new years eve..... should i ask or no?
